Shimel shoots 80 at first round of USGA Nationals
BEDMINSTER, N.J. – Eastwood High School’s Alyssa Shimel shot an 8-over 80 at the first round of the
United States Golf Association’s Girls’ Junior Championships at Trump National Golf Course on Monday.

Erynne Young, of Silverdale, Wash., leads all players after shooting a 5-under 67.
Round 2 of stroke play is today. After two rounds of stroke play the field will be cut to the lowest 64
scores with match play beginning Wednesday.
Reimold goes hitless
NEW YORK – Nolan Reimold, from Bowling Green State University, was 0-for-3 for Baltimore in a 2-1 loss to
New York Monday. He is hitting .265 for the season.
Rossford plans parents meeting
ROSSFORD – The Rossford High School Athletic Department is hosting the OHSAA mandated parent meeting at
the high school auditorium at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Parents of all fall sports athletes should attend.
BG Jr. High sets football meetings
A meeting for seventh grade football players and parents at Bowling Green Junior High is July 30 in the
Bowling Green High School cafeteria at 7 p.m.
The eighth grade football meeting for BGJHS players and parents is July 30 at 7 p.m. in the high school
gym.
Athletes and parents should bring completed physicals, OHSAA forms, and rmergency medical forms to the
meeting.
