Summer lawn party Wednesday at Happy Badger
The Happy Badger in downtown Bowling Green will host a "Summer Beat and Meet" lawn party on
Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature musicians, live glass blowing
demonstrations, tarot card readings, and henna temporary tattooing.
For those who recall the hoola-hoop frenzy of years gone by, it’s circled back around and will be part of
the summer party.
"We’ve got plenty of room," says Donna Cohen, co-owner. "We wanted to provide summer
entertainment for the local folks and motor coach visitors."
The Cohens recently rented out the former Calico, Sage and Thyme front store space from Chip Miles and
are developing a California-style cafe and tea house with a fair trade retail gift store.
"It’s a great place for meeting," says Cohen,
"Everyone is welcome."
Happy Badger is located at 331 N. Main, at the intersection of Clay Street.
Custar man dies in one-car crash
A Custar man has died as a result of a single-vehicle accident that occurred south of Bowling Green.
The Ohio State Patrol reports that a vehicle driven by Tracy Crouch, 42, Custar, was traveling westbound
on Sand Ridge Road, near Mitchell Road and just west of U.S. 6, at around 9 a.m. Sunday. According to
the OSP, the vehicle veered off the right side of the road then over-corrected and ran off the left side
of the road before striking a utility pole and a tree.
Crouch, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
