It is the season for ice cream and church ice cream socials.
Three different churches have announced upcoming ice cream socials. Two of the events are set for Sunday
and Tuesday, respectively, in Bowling Green; while the annual Hoytville social is planned for July 25.

¥ First Christian Church, Bowling Green, will hold its ice cream social beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Entertainment will be offered by guitarist Mark Harris.
¥ First Presbyterian Church, Bowling Green will have an ice cream social on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.,
hosted by the church’s mission team.
The group will be serving both ice cream sundaes and strawberry shortcake.
This will be a fundraiser for adult mission efforts here and away as well as monetary assistance
worldwide with various charities. A donation of $5 per order is suggested.
¥ The annual ice cream social sponsored by Hoytville United Methodist Church will be July 25. Serving
begins at 5 p.m.
Members of the church make the ice cream from scratch and not from a mix. The recipe has been passed down
from generation to generation and promoters stress how good it is. Also offered are the traditional
homemade noodles.
Additional menu items offered include chicken, hot dogs and barbecue beef sandwiches, potato salad, baked
beans, pie, cake and beverages.
The social is air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible. Carryouts are available.
