Wayne library board reschedules meeting
WAYNE – The Wayne Public Library’s Board of Trustees has canceled its meeting for tonight and will
instead meet Thursday at 6 p.m. in the library’s community room.
Wayne distributes government food
WAYNE – The Wayne Food Pantry will be distributing food Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the fire hall.
The giveaway is for residents in the 43466 zip code who meet eligibility requirements.
Wapakoneta Road closed this weekend
GRAND RAPIDS – The Toledo, Lake Erie & Western Railway will close the Wapakoneta Road railroad
crossing in Grand Rapids this week for repairs.
The road will be closed from Third Street to Second Street from Friday through Tuesday, weather
permitting. Traffic flow along Ohio 65 will not be affected.
Additional repairs are planning in the village that will not require any further road or street closures.
However, from time to time, roadways may be reduced to single lane traffic during repairs.
Workers identifying BG sewer manholes
The City of Bowling Green has contracted with GIS Landmark to identify the locations of sewer manholes
for the city’s Geographical Information System.
Residents should be aware that GIS Landmark employees will be working around city sewers and should
remain within the city right-of-way. Those conducting the inventory will carry equipment that includes a
large antenna and measuring rods.
Crews are currently working in all wards of the city. Work hours may, at times, exceed standard business
hours with evening work concluding no later than 8 p.m.
All employees carry photo identification.
The purpose of this inventory is to update all sewer assets.
Walmart is CES employer for July
Community Employment Services (CES) of Wood Lane recently named Walmart as its July Employer of the
Month. The store has employed one individual since May 1994 and another since April 1996.
"Walmart has integrated both of these individuals into their work force and staff is extremely
supportive," explained employment services coordinator Vic Gable.
