911 service disrupted in Perrysburg

PERRYSBURG – The city police division’s 911 service is back online after a disruption that began Sunday
afternoon.
Lt. David Weaver, division public information officer, said this morning that the disruption to 911
services was resolved shortly after 10 this morning. The disruption started around 2 p.m. on Sunday, but
the extent of the disruption is as of yet unclear.
He said the division was able to receive some calls Sunday, but other callers received a busy signal. At
about 1 a.m. today, the division implemented a temporary solution with help from Buckeye Phone Service
and Verizon.
The problem was located after a remote search, he said.
"It was a software switch somewhere outside of our local service area," Weaver said.
He said the problem was discovered when a caller informed the station that she had received a busy signal
on the 911 line. He said that was the only 911 call police received during the period of service
disruption.
