Northern Buckeye Conference hopes to name commissioner by Friday
The newly-formed Northern Buckeye Conference is interviewing applicants for the position of commissioner.

According to NBC spokesperson Larry Morrison, the league received 20 applications and has narrowed those
down to four finalists. Morrison said the league hopes to name a commissioner by Friday.
The NBC sent out a press release stating the league was looking for two additional schools to give the
NBC eight teams. The league has not received applications from any school as of yet, according to
Morrison.
The NBC consists of Suburban Lakes League members Eastwood, Genoa, Lake, Otsego and Woodmore, and
Northern Lakes League member Rossford.
BG’s Stone honored
Bowling Green men’s basketball assistant coach LaMonta Stone was named one of the top 25 Mid-Major
Assistant Coaches in the country by www.collegeinsider.com.
Stone is No. 15, the highest ranking of two Mid-American Conference assistant coaches on the list. He
joined the Bowling Green staff under former head coach Dan Dakich and has now served as an assistant
coach for the first two seasons of Louis Orr’s tenure.
Stone helped lead the program to the Mid-American Conference Eastern Division title in 2008-09 and the
top seed for the MAC Tournament. The Falcons advanced to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) where
the team lost a hard-fought 73-71 opening round game to top seed Creighton on the road in one of the
more hostile environments in the country.
Reimold has two hits
SEATTLE – Nolan Reimold, from Bowling Green State University, broke out of a 1-for-20 slump with a
2-for-4 effort in Baltimore’s 12-4 win over Seattle Tuesday. Reimold scored twice and had three RBI.
In 48 games, Reimold is hitting .270 with nine home runs, 23 RBI and 23 runs scored.
Rossford seeks freshmen football coach
ROSSFORD – Rossford High School is accepting applications for a freshmen football coach for the 2009
season.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and a brief coaching résumé with their
submission. All candidates should have demonstrated history of success in coaching.
Deadline for applications is July 13.
Candidates should send a cover letter and résumé to athletics director Chuck Cox at Rossford High School,
701 Superior Street, Rossford, 43460, or e-mail data to [email protected].
Local golfers record hole-in-one on same hole
Mike Tilley and Jeff Sawyer, both from Bowling Green, each recorded a hole-in-one on No. 5 at Forrest
Creason Golf Course.
Tilley aced the 180-yard No. 5 Sunday and Sawyer recorded his hole-in-one Monday. Both shots were
witnessed by Clarke Allen.
Links Lassies
The Links Lassies played at Forrest Creason Golf Course Tuesday.
Flight winners were: Flight A – Eileen Smith, low gross and low net; Flight B – Carol Jones, low gross;
Donna Otley, low net; Flight C – Doris Christensen, low gross and low net. Sally Amos won the low putts
award.
Golferettes
The Bowling Green Golferettes held regular league play on Tuesday.
Joyce Stearns won low net and Jean Bateman won low putts for Flight A. Tyne Hyslop won low gross and low
net, and Sharon Gargasz won low putts for Flight B. June Long and Sarah McDermott won low Gross, Long
the low net, and Linda Moore won low putts for Flight C.
The tournament of the day was won by Stearns and Bateman.
