BG’s Miller earns another honor
Bowling Green State University women’s basketball coach Curt Miller has been named to the list of the top
mid-mMajor head coaches in NCAA Division I by the National Women’s Basketball Insider Web site. Miller,
ranked ninth on that list, was the only Mid-American Conference head coach to be named.
Miller, through eight seasons at BGSU, has an overall record of 179-73 and a MAC mark of 94-34. Over the
last six years, however, Miller and the Falcons are 158-38 (80.6 percent) overall, 83-13 (86.5 percent)
in MAC regular-season play and 98-16 (86.0 percent) in all games vs. league foes during that time.
The Falcons have won five consecutive MAC regular-season titles, and BGSU has been to national postseason
play in each of those five years. BG has won more than 20 games in each of the last six seasons.
Through the 2008-09 season, Miller is the fourth-winningest MAC coach of all time, with his 179
victories. In MAC games only, he is tied for seventh in conference history with 94 regular-season wins
against league foes.
Reimold goes hitless
ANAHEIM, Calif. – Nolan Reimold, from Bowling Green State University, had a rough weekend for the
Baltimore Orioles against the Los Angeles Angels.
He was 0-for-5 Friday night in Baltimore’s 6-4 win, did not play in Saturday’s 11-4 loss to the Angels;
and was 0-for-5 on a 9-6 loss on Sunday. Reimold is hitting .270.
Treeger records hole-in-one
SOUTH LYON, Mich. – Jim Treeger, of Bowling Green, had a hole-in-one at Moose Ridge Golf Course on June
29.
Kiehl records hole-in-one
Paula Kiehl, of Bowling Green, recorded a hole-in-one on No. 13 at Forrest Creason on July 1.
Baseball tryout, hitting camp set
Coast to Coast Baseball is holding tryouts and offering an instructional hitting camp at Bowling Green’s
Perry Field House on July 26. The tryout starts at 10 a.m. with the hitting camp at 2 p.m.
At the tryouts, for ages 10-18, players will be evaluated on hitting, fielding, arm strength and speed.
