Clippers score late for win

TOLEDO – Columbus scored seven times in the final three innings on the way to an 8-1 victory over Toledo
in International League play Monday. The Mud Hens are 37-45 in the IL West.
Chris Lambert pitched the first six innings for Toledo allowing seven hits, a walk and one earned run,
but the Mud Hens’ bullpen gave up six hits and five walks in the final three innings.
Wilkin Ramirez had three hits, including a home run, for Toledo and Clete Thomas added two. Fausto
Carmona pitched five strong innings for Columbus, allowing six hits, a walk and one earned run while
striking out five.
On Saturday, Toledo scored four runs in the third inning on the way to a 7-3 win over the Clippers.
Jeff Larissh hit a solo home run for Toledo. Jeff Frazier had three hits and while Will Rhymes, Ramirez
and Jeff Larish each had two, including a solo home run from Larish. The Mud Hens hit four doubles in
the game and Rhymes had three RBI and Larish had two.
Eddie Bonine pitched seven innings to get his first win of the season as a Mud Hen.
On Friday, the Mud Hens scored six times in the first inning in an 8-2 win over Columbus. In the first
inning, Clippers Brent Clevlen hit a two-run triple and Frazier hit a two run home run. Scott Sizemore,
Wilkin Ramirez, Clevlen, Mike Hessman and Max St-Pierre all finished with two hits.
Brooks Brown pitched six innings to get the win.
Toledo is idle today.
