Combined musical service set
Hope Lutheran Church on Cloverdale Road in Bowling Green will host a combined all-musical service on
Sunday at 10 a.m. Members of St. James Lutheran in Bradner will join with the members of Hope Lutheran
for the service.
Special music will be provided by Souls Harbor and The Sprague Family.
A potluck dinner and fellowship will follow the service.
Chicken BBQ planned
LUCKEY – Zion United Methodist Church, 525 Krotzer Ave., Luckey, will hold a chicken barbecue July 11
from noon to 4 p.m.
Adult dinners are $7; while children can eat for $4. Carry-outs are available.
Benefit to be held
PERRYSBURG – Hope Burkin, age 9, has a rare but lethal disease, Fanconi Anemia. It is a genetic disorder
which attacks the bone marrow, primarily in children.
"A Bus Trip for Hope" is a fundraiser organized through Blessed John XXIII parish in Perrysburg
with proceeds to benefit the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund on behalf of Hope.
For $35, participants will leave Perrysburg at 3 p.m. on Aug. 1 to go to Greektown Casino in Detroit. The
bus return trip will leave the casino at 9 p.m. Those participating will receive the bus ride and a $20
casino chip voucher.

The public is invited to attend.
Annual outdoor service returns
First Presbyterian Church, Bowling Green, will hold its annual outdoor service at 10 a.m. on July 12 at
Wintergarden Park.
There will be a potluck and barbecue after the service. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to
share and their own plate and service. The church will provide the barbecue sandwiches, condiments and
lemonade.
Also worshippers are asked to bring lawn chairs for the service and picnic.
Fifties flashback
WATERVILLE – Again this year the Waterville United Methodist Church will host its "Fabulous Fifties
Drive-in Diner" on July 11 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the church, 102 N. Fifth St., Waterville.
The church invites the public to attend.
"Put on your poodle skirt, slick back your hair and come join us," organizers promote. There
will be plenty of favorite oldies being played and carhops will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, French
fries, root beer floats homemade pies and more. Tables will be set up in the courtyard for those who
choose not to eat in their car.
