Beth (Lee) Smith, 42, of Peru, Ind., and formerly of Haskins, died June 21, 2009, near Angola, Ind.
She previously worked at Medex Inc., Columbus.
Mrs. Smith was active in the community, volunteering countless hours for her children’s schools, YMCA,
and other community organizations.
The 1985 graduate of McAuley High School, Toledo, earned her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
from Ohio State University in 1990.
Born Nov. 22, 1966 in Bowling Green to Charles Andrew and Nancy (Patton) Lee, she married Chris Smith on
Nov. 16, 1991. He survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Abigail, and a son, Cameron, both at home; her mother and stepfather,
Nancy and Steve Felix, of Metamora; a sister, Libby Adams, of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; and a brother,
Mark Lee, Toledo.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The funeral will be held at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home in Peru at a later date.
A memorial service will be held July 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s of Heatherdowns, Toledo, with a
luncheon to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beth Smith Memorial Fund to assist her children with
rehabilitation and educational needs. All contributions should be sent c/o Edgewood Management, 350 Park
