Paul C. Ladd VFW Auxiliary 1148
The June 15 meeting, led by Junior Vice President Vicky North, was attended by four officers and six
other members.
Many members have donated their time or articles in their respective communities for such efforts as
working at a local hospice or food pantry, and donations of clothing and household items. Total hours
reported this month is 63 and monetary amount is $870. The women were commended.
The District 1 president and cancer chairman have asked that auxiliaries donate items for a basket that
will be raffled off at Department Convention. This basket is for the Cancer Program.
Ladd auxiliary’s donation will be items made by Sharon Bronsink and Deb Hermiller. They are homemade soy
candles and homemade hanging kitchen towels.
One of the youngest members, Amber Gump, was hailed as having enlisted in the Army.
The Salvation Army is once again going to need school items for their backpacks this year. Members are
asked to bring items in by the August meeting.
Dates to remember: July 24-25, Department Council of Administration; Aug. 1, Ohio Caravan to National
Home; Aug. 4, Post Everlasting at Wood County Fair, 6 p.m.; Aug. 9, District 1 Council of Administration
meeting at Post 2898 at 1 p.m. Members will be needed to carry the auxiliary banner and flag at the Post
Everlasting program at the fair. Anyone able to march is asked to call President Patsy Gaines.
The next auxiliary meeting is July 20 at 7 p.m. at the post home.
