ODOT worker injured
Alfredo J. Enriquez, 60, Bowling Green, was injured Tuesday morning while operating equipment for the
Ohio Department of Transportation on U.S. 6 east of Bowling Green.
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol Bowling Green Post, Enriquez was taken by air ambulance to St.
Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, after the front end loader he was operating rolled over. The
report indicates the equipment rolled after the bucket was raised as the vehicle was moving along a
slight grade off the edge of the highway.
The mishap occurred near Huffman Road about 9:55.
Bicyclist injured
HASKINS – A bicyclist from St. Marys participating in the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure was injured
Tuesday at 9:31 a.m. in a collision with a vehicle at Ohio 64 and Cross Creek Road.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Vernon Raymond Jr., 61, was eastbound on Cross Creek Road
and slowed but did not stop at the intersection of Route 64. Raymond was struck by a southbound vehicle
driven by Patricia Osbourne of Whitehouse.
The cyclist was transported to Wood County Hospital and then by air ambulance to Toledo Hospital. The
report indicated Raymond sustained several broken bones.
No citations have been issued and the accident remains under investigation.
Jets to fly over BGSU today
Three 180th Fighter Wing F-16 fighter jets will fly special flight patterns this afternoon to have an
official photographer take pictures of local landmarks.
The flight pattern will include flights over Bowling Green State University.
Nearby residents may hear louder than normal jet engine sounds and observe the jets flying lower than
normal.
Homes evacuated
MILLBURY – Two East Broadway homes were evacuated Tuesday afternoon due to a damaged gas meter.
Homes, in the 28000 block of East Broadway Street, were temporarily evacuated at about 3 p.m. after a
homeowner, in the neighborhood just north of U.S. 795, had struck a gas meter in the yard while moving a
vehicle.
