RISINGSUN – Leonard Wickard, 95, of Risingsun, died Saturday (June 20, 2009) at his home.
He worked for Ex-Cello Corp. in Bluffton as an inspector for 22 years.
Mr. Wickard loved music and sang in a quartet in his younger days, as well as his church choir and with
friends and other until his 80s. He enjoyed playing many musical instruments.
He also was devoted to reading and the history of the Bible.
Born Feb. 5, 1914 in Jerry City to Ray and Bessie (Root) Wickard, he married Florence M. Frankfather on
July 3, 1934, and she preceded him in death.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Myers, and nine brothers, Jack, La Vern, Martin, Clayton,
Richard, Merle, Kurmit, Robert and Maxwell in infancy.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Raney, Jerry City; a son, James E. Wickard, Weston; a brother, Rev Glenn
"Hap" of Wapakoneta; a sister, Donna Yoh, Perrysburg; four grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.Pastor Jerry Hunt
will officiate. Burial will follow at West Millgrove Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday and continue until the service.
Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice, Findlay or Word of Truth Christian Center, Bowling Green.
