PERRYSBURG – Ralph V. Simmons, 81, a lifelong resident of Perrysburg, died Sunday (June 21, 2009) at The
Manor at Perrysburg.
For more than 30 years, he was an electrician with Libbey-Owens-Ford, retiring in 1980. He also worked
for Autotronics.
Mr. Simmons also owned and operated Sound by Simmons, where major projects included the Maumee Recreation
Center and Witzler-Shank Funeral Homes in both Walbridge and Perrysburg.
He was a member of St. Rose Church, Perrysburg.
A 1946 graduate of Woodward High School, he served in the Navy during World War II.
Born Sept. 9, 1927 in Ridgefarm, Ill., to Carlyle and Helen (King) Simmons, he married Dolores M.
Pantaleo in Toledo on May 14, 1949. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Zellner, of Gibsonburg, and Deborah Brandenburg, Whitehouse; four
grandchildren, Tracy Lovejoy, Cheri Reino, Daniel Zellner and Crystal Brandenburg; and four
great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fort Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m., with a scripture service at 7 p.m.
