Tracy has big night for Lehigh Valley
NORFOLK, Va. – Former Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green State University standout Andy Tracy
set or tied four franchise records for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Triple-A affiliate for the
Philadelphia Phillies.
Tracy went 3-for-3 with two home runs, five RBI, four runs scored, two walks and a stolen base in
Friday’s 8-6 win over the Norfolk Tides. The four runs set a franchise record and his totals for RBI,
home runs, and total bases (nine) each tied franchise marks.
For the season, Tracy is batting .242 with 12 home runs and 47 RBI. He is second in the International
League in both home runs and RBI.
Reimold 1-for-5 over the weekend
PHILADELPHIA – Former Bowling Green Falcon standout Nolan Reimold went 1-for-5 for the Baltimore Orioles
over the weekend.
In Saturday’s 6-5 win over the Phillies Reimold went hitless in his only at-bat as a pinch hitter.
In Sunday’s 2-1 win over Philadelphia, Reimold went 1-for-4 with a single.
Reimold is batting .287 in 34 games for Baltimore.
Crawford scores TD
FOSTORIA – Adam Crawford, from Bowling Green High School, scored a touchdown in the Fostoria Athletic
Boosters Time Warner East-West All-Star Football Game Saturday.
Crawford had four receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown for the West, who won 19-7. The West had only
95 yards passing.
Zach Clifford, from Bowling Green High School, had four tackles as a safety for the West. He was voted
the West Sportsmanship Award winner by his teammates.
Also playing in the game for the West were Shannon Stewart of Elmwood and Randy Marine of North
Baltimore, Stewart had two tackles and Marine four.
Time Warner will show the game in its entirety on channel 21 in BG at the following times: today and
Tuesday, 9 p.m.; Friday, 7 p.m.; Saturday, noon and 7 p.m.
BG’s Miller named to WBCA board
Bowling Green State University’s Curt Miller has been named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association
(WBCA) Board of Directors.
Miller and San Diego State head coach Beth Burns were appointed to the board to fill the positions of
Northern Illinois coach Carol Owens and Arizona State coach Charli Turner-Thorne, after Owens and
Turner-Thorne were named to the WBCA’s Executive Committee.
Miller is also actively involved in several other committees. The winningest coach in BGSU women’s
basketball history, Miller is the chair of the Russell Athletic/WBCA National Coach of the Year
Committee.
Miller is also a member of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Rules Committee and the WBCA Legislative
Sub-Committee.
National bid tournament in Fremont
FREMONT – An all-night men’s and coed softball tournament will be held in Fremont beginning July 3.
Drawing is July 1 at 5 p.m. The top five teams are awarded trophies and the winner will be awarded hooded
sweatshirts.
