LUCKEY – The Troy-Webster American Legion Auxiliary installed newly elected officers at the regular
meeting on June 3, with 19 members in attendance. Kathryn Shaffer served as installing officer and
Maxine Cross as sergeant-at-arms.
Installed were: President, Shirley Davis; first vice president, Rosemarie Heilman; second vice president,
Karen Snyder; secretary, Elaine Moenter; treasurer, Donna Rolf; corresponding secretary, Ellen
Bechstein; chaplain, Lila James; historian, Teresa Bailey; and sergeant-at-arms, Geraldine Levorchick.

The Past Presidents served on the installing team.
The newly elected officers of the Past Presidents, also installed by Shaffer and Cross, are: President,
Rosemarie Heilman; vice president, Irene Michel; and secretary-treasurer, James.
Shaffer and Cross were both nominated to the Executive Committee.
Shaffer presented dahlia plants to Davis for serving three consecutive years as president; to Rolf, who
has served as treasurer for 40 years; and to Elaine Moenter who has served as secretary for 38 years.

Teresa Bailey, on behalf of the auxiliary, donated five $10 Books A Million gift certificates to each
school to be give to the student who had showed the most improvement in reading. The education chairman
would like this to be part of the unit’s yearly education commitment.
A letter of resignation from the catering chairman, Rebecca Dippman, was read. She also resigned from the
Children and Youth Committee and other responsibilities that she has with the auxiliary, noting that she
has a new job with the Wood County Fair Board and can’t cover the wedding in August as it falls during
fair week.
A special newsletter will be mailed out to all legion, auxiliary and SAL members, offering the catering
chairmanship to Troy-Webster members first.
Member Ruth Aring is now at Blakely Care Center for therapy after suffering a stroke.
The next meeting on July 1 will be held jointly with the legion men and SAL members, with a potluck and
Buckeye Boy and Girls State delegates and their parents as guests. The delegates will give their
reports.
