Radish Festival returns

McCLURE ? Wood County residents are invited to kick off the summer?s festival season, and celebrate
Father?s Day, by attending the 30th annual McClure Radish Festival.
The event will be held in McClure?s Big Creek Park on Saturday from 1 p.m. to midnight, and Sunday, from
11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Not only does it feature free radishes, provided by TC Marketing, but a 40-ft. by 80-foot dance floor and
continuous music, along with homestyle food, beer and other beverages.
The Damascus Township Fire and Rescue will offer its famous chicken barbecue both days; on Saturday,
beginning at 1 p.m. and on Sunday, starting at 11 a.m.
Bratwurst will be sold by Brookview Farms both days.
Bands start at 3 p.m. on Saturday with Justus III alternating on the stage with Duane Malinowski. They
play variety, country, polka and ?50/?60s genres. At 9 p.m. Lemon Squeezers take center stage until
midnight.
On Sunday, polka music begins at 1 p.m. with Hank Heller Ensemble and Bavarian Brass alternating until 9
p.m.
For children there will be games and a kiddie tractor pull on Sunday at noon, with registration at 11
a.m.
Admission costs are $6 a day or $10 for a two-day pass for persons 16 and over. Children under 16 must be
with a parent or guardian.
Parking is free, and handicapped-accessible parking is available.
Camping is available for self-contained vehicles.
No coolers are allowed in the festival area.
