Haskins committees are meeting today
HASKINS – Haskins Village Finance and Audit Committee, along with the Streets and Utilities Committee,
will be meeting today at 5:30 p.m. in the town hall. The committees will discuss various topics.
Township police investigate rape report
PERRYSBURG – Township police and Children’s Services in Wood County are investigating a reported rape,
involving two juveniles.
According to police, the report was made from a township address to the department on June 11 – regarding
an incident that the caller said happened between six months to a year ago as well as one or more
incidents that happened out of state within the last five years. The reported crime involves a
15-year-old and another juvenile whose age was not given.
Chief Edward Stribrny said Monday that the department was still trying to iron out some of the missing
details and would begin following up on claims "so we can make sure that whatever has occurred can
be handled properly."
BG Republican club to meet Thursday
The Bowling Green Republican Club will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. at Stone Ridge Clubhouse.
Those with an interest in finding out about the club, the candidates being supported for this fall’s
election, or supporting a grass roots Republican organization, are encouraged to attend.
Luckey Library hosts ‘Book Bonanza’
LUCKEY – The Luckey Branch Library will hold a "Book Bonanza" during Summerfest Day on
Saturday. Books are available on a donation-given basis.
The public also is invited to stop by the library to see the sketches of the town, drawn by artist Sally
Predmore.
Legion hosts Honor Flight fundraiser
BRADNER – The Bradner American Legion on Sunday will host a rib and chicken dinner/bake sale fundraiser
for Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio. All proceeds will benefit Honor Flight, which is a program designed
to fly veterans to Washington to view their respective memorials.
Dinner choices include ribs and chicken ($10), all ribs ($12), or all chicken ($10). Dinner includes
baked potato, green beans, salad, garlic bread, beverage, and dessert.
Reservations can be made by calling (419) 288-3634 but are not necessary. Dinner begins at 11:30 a.m. and
will continue until sold out. The bake sale begins at 9 a.m. and will continue until sold out.
