Five Eagles top All-SLL softball team

FREMONT – Nine players from Wood County high schools, including repeat selection Megan Eisenhour from
Eastwood, have been selected to the All-Suburban Lakes League softball team in voting by the coaches.

Eisenhour, a junior outfielder, is one of five Eastwood players on the first team. The Eagles won the SLL
title, going 12-2.
The other Eagles on the first-team are: junior first baseman Jimmi Gangwer; junior shortstop Katie
Dewyer; senior third baseman Brooke Albright; and sophomore pitcher Christine Foster. Dewyer was a
second-team pick in 2008 and an honorable mention choice in 2007. Albright was an honorable mention
selection in 2008 and a second-team pick in 2007. Foster was an honorable mention pick last season.
Elmwood’s Megan Oler, a senior outfielder; Kelsey Feasel, a senior designated hitter/utility; and Morgan
Arnold, a sophomore catcher are on the first-team along with Lakota sophomore outfielder Amber Bickford.
Oler and Feasel were second-team picks in 2008 and Arnold and Bickford were on the honorable mention
list.
Woodmore’s senior pitcher Sami Michaelis, who was the SLL player of the year, and Gibsonburg senior
second baseman Kristi Krotzer round out the 11-player first team. Krotzer is a repeat first-team pick.
Michaelis was on the second-team last season.
There are seven county players on the second team, including four from Elmwood – senior second baseman
Kristi Chapman, junior shortstop Samantha Pollard, junior third baseman Emily Reynolds and sophomore
pitcher Marissa Lee. Chapman and Reynolds are repeat second-team picks and Lee was on the 2008 honorable
mention list.
Also on the second team from the county are Lake’s Kaysie Brittenham, a sophomore outfielder and Adrienne
Lowe, a sophomore designated hitter/utility; and Lakota’s Alicia Bickford, a senior catcher. Lowe was a
second-team pick in the outfield in 2008 and Bickford was on the honorable mention list in 2008 and
2007.
Also on the 11-player second-team are Genoa’s Julie Swartzmiller, a sophomore outfielder; Casidy Bumbera,
a junior first baseman; and Sarah Muncy, a junior pitcher; and Gibsonburg’s Aubrey Goetz, a junior
outfielder. Bumbera and Goetz were honorable mention picks in 2008.
On the 33-player honorable mention list are:
Eastwood – senior outfielder Beth Knott; senior outfielder Alyssa LaVoy; and junior catcher Kerri
Gangwer, and junior second baseman Kristin Martin. Gangwer was a first-team pick last season and Martin
was on the second team;
Elmwood – junior first baseman Vanessa Schwind; and sophomore outfielder Stephanie Barringer;
Genoa – senior second baseman Courtney Mowery; junior outfielder Allison Johnson, junior designated
hitter/utility Rachel Montgomery; sophomore outfielder Jessica Fuller; sophomore shortstop Kayla
Pickard; and sophomore catcher Olivia Reeder. Reeder is a repeat selection;
Gibsonburg – senior third baseman Alania Haubert; senior pitcher Samantha Stainbrook; and freshman
desiganted hitter/utility Meredith Morgan. Stainbrook is a repeat selection;
Lake – senior shortstop Lauren Lind; junior first baseman Brianne Freeman; sophomore catcher Mackenzie
Whiteman; and freshman third baseman Megan Schnell. Lind and Freeman are repeat selections;
Lakota – senior second baseman Jessica Chalfin; junior first baseman Rachel Hoffman; freshman pitcher
Abby Durst; and freshman outfielder Morgan Lewis;
Otsego – junior catcher Emily Limes;
Woodmore – senior outfielder Rachel Bouldin; senior outfielder Tiffany Keaton; senior first baseman
Kaylee Paul; senior catcher Emma Sullivan; junior second baseman Melissa Busdeker; junior shortstop
Shelby Phillips; junior outfielder Elisha Stone; sophomore third baseman Bailey Ulinski; and freshman
designated hitter/utility Kalyn Tate. Bouldin, Paul, Sullivan are three-time honorable mention picks
while Keaton, Busdeker and Ulinksi were on the honorable mention list last season.
