Elmwood junior football registration
JERRY CITY – There will be registration for Elmwood Royal junior football June 16 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the
Community Center meeting room. The league is for grades 4-6. For questions, contact Jack Kerr at (419)

All-star softball games set
FOSTORIA – The Northwest district all-star softball games are Monday at 6 p.m. at Fostoria High School.
First-team all-district selections from all four divisions will compete simultaneously on the FHS
varsity and junior varsity fields.
Perrysburg’s Stephanie Messenger in Division I; Eastwood’s Katie Dewyre, Brooke Albright and Megan
Eisenhour in Division II; and Elmwood’s Morgan Arnold in Division III are scheduled to participate.
Badenhop has rough outing
MIAMI – Burke Badenhop, from Perrysburg High School and Bowling Green State University, pitched one
inning for the Florida Marlins Wednesday in a 13-4 loss to St. Louis. Badenhop allowed four hits and
three runs of which two were earned. His earned-run average is now 4.28.
Reimold goes 0-for-4
BALTIMORE – Nolan Reimold, a former Bowling Green Falcon, went 0-for-4 for Baltimore in a 4-1 loss to
Seattle Wednesday. He is now hitting .280.
Links Lassies
The Links Lassies held a medal play event at Forrest Creason Golf Course Tuesday.
Flight winners were: A, Sue Joseph, low gross and low net; B, Mary Ann Hillier, low gross and Donna
Otley, low net; C, Sally Amos, low gross and low net and low putts.
Golferettes
The Bowling Green Country Club Golferettes held league play on Tuesday and Joyce Horton won the
tournament of the day.
The flight winners were: A, Jean Bateman, low net and Joyce Stearns, low putts; B, Virginia Telecky low
gross, Sharon Gargasz, low net and Tyne Hyslop. low putts; C, Sarah McDermott, low gross and low net;
and Jackie Osborne, low putts; and D, Beth Rutter, low gross and low putts.
Genson records hole-in-one
SWANTON – Pete Genson scored a hole-in-one on the No. 17 hole at White Pines Golf Course on June 9.
He used a 6 iron off the white tees to ace the 173-yard hole.
Summer hockey registration set
Registration for the BGSU Ice Arena’s summer slo-puck hockey league is Tuesday with open ice for the
players from 9-10:15 p.m.
The B League is for players age 13-and-older. The A League is for players 18-and-older. The fee is $130
and games will be played on Monday and Tuesday nights, starting June 22.
Owens hosts girls basketball
team shootout
Area high school girls basketball teams can participate in a two-day Express Girls Summer Slam Team
Shootout hosted by Owens Community College June 26-27.
The basketball team shootout competition will begin each day at 9 a.m. in the College’s Student Health
and Activities Center on the Toledo-area Campus.
Each high school team will be guaranteed four games per day and basketball programs will have the
opportunity to compete on either Friday or Saturday, or both days. The camp fee is $150 per team for one
day or $200 per team for both days.
The number of participating teams is limited and reservations are required.
