WAYNE – The funeral for Millard "Sonny" Pollard will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion United
Brethren Church, Wayne. Revs. Lee Hiney and Mike Soltis will officiate. Burial will be in Graham
Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne, and Friday at the church
beginning at 10 a.m.
Mr. Pollard, 81, died Tuesday (June 9, 2009) at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
He retired from the former Stahl Oil Company, Wayne, and also worked for North Branch Nursery,
Pemberville.
A 1945 graduate of Montgomery Township High School, he loved the outdoors and animals.
Born Nov. 12, 1927 in Woodville to Theodore R. and Laretta Jane (Wise) Pollard, he married Elene May
Hedge on Feb. 25, 1949 in Bowling Green. She died July 15, 2008.
Surviving are a son, Randy L., Risingsun; a daughter, Linda M. Tyson, Wayne; a brother, Lee R.,
Sheffield, Ala.; two sisters, Margie Ann Porter, Haines City., Fla., and Paula Rowene Hum, Crystal
River, Fla.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas.
