BG park exhibits sculpture
The Simpson Garden Park Sculpture Show opens Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Simpson Garden Park Amphitheater
in Bowling Green.
The show continues through Sept. 30 on the park at 1291 Conneaut Ave.
Renaissance oils workshop offered
PERRYSBURG – Prizm will present "Italian Renaissance Oils: Glazing Techniques for Realism" with
instructor Debra Buchanan June 22 through June 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Perrysburg High School in Art
Classroom 130.
Cost of the workshop will be $95 for Prizm members and $125 for non-members.
This technique is based upon the visual mixing of colors, which create optical grays rather than the
physical mixing of colors. Deadline for registration is Tuesday. The classes are designed for serious
art students, junior high age through adults, and can be taken by amateurs and professionals alike.

Debra Buchanan received her BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1993, went on to study in
Europe, and then completed her Masters of Education from Bowling Green State University in 2004.
BG man headed to karaoke contest
Lionel Brown, of Bowling Green, is headed to Las Vegas to compete in the international semifinals of the
International Bowling Karaoke Superstar Contest after winning the local competition at Al-Mar Lanes.
The local competition began in January with weekly contests leading up to the local finals.
As winner Brown will receive airfare and accommodations.
The winner of the competition will receive $5,000, studio time to record a CD and the chance to open for
a major act.

Rod’s Collision to play Cla-Zel
The blues band Rod’s Collision will be playing at the Cla-Zel in downtown Bowling Green Saturday from
7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The cover is $3.
Perrysburg concerts set
PERRYSBURG – Summer music gets underway this week.
Teachr’z Pet will perform a Brown Bag Concert Wednesday at noon in Woodland Park and Lori LaFevre Johnson
will perform at Music at the Market June 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Commodore Square, at the corner of
Louisiana and Indiana avenues.
Work by late artist on display
PERRYSBURG – An exhibit of art by the late Mariann Rossi is now on display at the Perrysburg Municipal
Building, 201 W. Indiana. The show, which continues through June 30, includes a wide range of mediums
and styles.

Night Jazz opens concert series
FINDLAY – Night Jazz will open the Riverside Summer Concert Series at Riverside Park Wednesday at 7:30
p.m.
Other concerts, all at 7:30 p.m., scheduled are:
