Northwood man dies in one-car accident
ROSSFORD ­- A Northwood man was killed this morning in what appears to be a single-vehicle accident.
According to Rossford Police, officers responded to a report of an accident shortly after 2 a.m. in the
area of Glenwood and Schrier roads. Upon arrival, the officers found an unconscious driver – Michael G.
Haas, 60 ­- behind the wheel of a vehicle that had driven off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle
had struck several mailboxes and then collided with a telephone pole, which broke and caused downed
power lines that blocked Glenwood Road.
Haas was pronounced dead a short time later. The accident is still under investigation.

Heminger to leave BG Council in July
Gordy Heminger, Bowling Green’s First Ward City Council representative, has announced he will be leaving
council July 20 to take a job in Indianapolis.
Heminger will become president and CEO of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity.
He has been on council for two terms and had filed for re-election in November.
Free lunch served in Perrysburg
PERRYSBURG – Kitchen of Hope II will be serving a free soup and sandwich lunch on Friday at Zoar Lutheran
Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave., from noon until 1:30 p.m.
This meal is free to all Wood County residents on fixed incomes, including senior citizens.
Orders will also be taken at this time for the "Great Food For All" program.
