David and Donna (Simmers) Mertz of rural Bowling Green are observing their 40th wedding anniversary this
weekend.
They were married June 7, 1969 at the Tontogany Presbyterian Church.
Donna Mertz retired in 2008 as circulation supervisor at the Wood County District Public Library. David
Mertz was a copy editor for The Blade in Toledo before retiring in 2001.
They have three children, Peter, Bowling Green; Rebecca, Kettering; and Joshua of New York.
The couple will celebrate the anniversary today at a breakfast at the Toledo Zoo with others who have
