PERRYSBURG – Harry J. Wilcox, 59, of Perrysburg, died Tuesday (June 2, 2009) at his home.
He taught French, drama and English for 35 years, including 23 years at Rossford High School and five
years at Dexter (Mich.) High School.
Mr. Wilcox was a member of the Ohio and National Education associations.
He directed the Summer Theater for children in the Rossford community for many years, and was a member of
the Village Players and Fremont Community Theater.
Mr. Wilcox was honored for his devotion to his work and students with the Rossford High School stage
being named for him.
He loved theater and directing plays. He took many students on school trips, some of which included
France, Quebec, New York, Stratford, Chicago, and London.
He was a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a master’s degree in education.
Born Aug.30, 1949 in Philadelphia to James and Anna Mae Wilcox, he married Janet Smith, his wife of 11
years, who survives.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford. Rev. Kent Kaufman
will officiate. A luncheon will follow at the parish center. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery,
Carey, at 2 p.m.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Additional
visitation will be held Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. at the church.
