Horse therapy can help children
LUCKEY ? Equine-assisted therapy classes begin June 15 at Serenity Farm.
The classes are designed to assist children in eighth through 12th grades who may be underachievers.

Camp offered for grieving kids
Camp STAR, a camp for children who are grieving the loss of a loved one, will be held June 30 and July 1
and 2 at the Rotary Nature Center at St. John?s Wintergarden Park.
STAR stands for a Special Time to Always Remember. It is sponsored by Bridge Home Health and Hospice and
Bowling Green Parks and Recreation.
It is open to any child ages 6 to 13 who has experienced grief and feelings associated with the death of
a loved one.
A group of professionals and trained volunteers will lead individual and group activities. An art
therapist and licensed social worker/bereavement coordinator will be on staff each day and will be
available to provide information to families.
The camp is free and snacks and lunches will be provided. Registration is required. For more information

Weston kids show patriotic spirit
WESTON ? The Weston American Legion Post 409 invited the children in the community to decorate their
bicycles in a patriotic theme for the Weston Memorial Day Parade, and then ride their bikes for all to
see in the parade.
They also invited those who owned golf-carts to decorate their golf carts in a patriotic theme, and then
drive them for all to see in the parade. Judging was held at 12:30 p.m. May 25th at the post at 13180 S.
Main St.
The winners of the bike decorating contest were: First place- Brianna Moon-Bucksky ($15), second place ?
Aidan Tobar ($10), third place ? Matthew Snyder ($5), honorable mention – Dakota Clark and Caleb Smiley

The winners of the golf cart decorating contest were: First place – Camden Kennedy ($25), second place ?
Bob Ackerman ($15).
