Weston festival planners needs help
WESTON – The Weston Days Festival Committee will meet tonight at 7 at the fire station. Volunteers are
needed.
The committee will continue to meet every Tuesday at the same time and location.
The festival is June 26-27.
U.S. labor secretary visits Perrysburg
PERRYSBURG – U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda L. Solis is touring Glasstech Inc. in Perrysburg this afternoon
to discuss growing jobs with workers. Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland will join the tour
Solis also will meet with UAW officials at Region 2B headquarters in Maumee.
Three injured in Monday crash
Three people were transported to Wood County Hospital with incapacitating injuries following an accident
early Monday evening at the intersection of Ohio 18 and Cloverdale Road.
According to the report from the Wood County Sheriff’s office, Jenae King, Tim Gibson and his passenger
Bailey Gibson, 14, were all transported by Bloomdale EMS.
King, 24, of Bloomdale, was driving a 2007 Dodge Ram northbound on Cloverdale Road. After stopping at the
stop sign at Route 18, she proceeded into the intersection and was struck by Gibson, 34, of North
Baltimore, who was driving a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder eastbound.
Both vehicles ended in the field northwest of the intersection. According to the report, King’s vehicle
rolled at least once and landed on the driver’s side.
All three victims have been transferred to other medical facilities, according to a spokesperson at Wood
County Hospital.
King was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.
Ambulance district meets Wednesday
The Mid-County Ambulance District will meet Wednesday at 3 p.m. at its building on County Home Road.
Southwood EMS meets Wednesday
The Southwood EMS District will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Henry Township
Hall in North Baltimore.
Andy Newlove named to BG Civil Service
Bowling Green City Council Monday night approved the appointment of Andy Newlove to the Civil Service
Commission.
Newlove will fill the vacancy left by the death of his grandfather, Al Newlove, completing the unexpired
term through May 31, 2012.
PERS meets Thurs.
The Wood County Public Employee retiree group meets Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Wood County Senior Center,
305 N. Main St., Bowling Green.

Pemberville Community Pool lists daily hours, admission prices
PEMBERVILLE – The Pemberville Community Pool is now open.
Its daily hours are from 1 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The admission cost is $4 for residents and $5 for non-residents.
