COLUMBUS - The winter of 2014 has brought to Ohio colder temperatures and wind chills than we've seen in many years - and how a shortage of propane and natural gas.
The Ohio Department of Aging reminds all Ohioans that our bodies react differently to extreme conditions as we age. Among other factors, older adults are at higher risk from extreme cold because they tend to lose body heat more quickly and are more likely to take medications that affect their ability to regulate body temperature. • Make sure steps leading into your home have sturdy handrails that can support you if you slip.
•Watch for slippery surfaces ahead of you. Keep your head up and use your eyes to look down.
