People tour the Home and Garden Expo at the Stroh Center. The event featured 97 vendors, nearly double last year’s total, stationed on the Stroh’s main court and Hall of Fame Area. “Attendance has well-exceeded last year’s event,” said Betty Kahlenberg, advertising director for the Sentinel-Tribune, which again sponsored the second-year event. BGSU students hold a sit-in, Friday, April 19, 2013, on the first floor of McFall Center on the campus of Bowling Green State University. About a half dozen members of the Environmental Action Group is being denied access today to the second floor of Bowling Green' State University's McFall Center.

The group had announced plans earlier to sit in at the office of BGSU President Mary Ellen Mazey, whose office is on the second floor.

The police department will hire three new officers this year. The physical training is the first step toward hiring. Ninety participants tried out and 74 passed. A written test will be given in May and training for those hired will start in September. Hopefuls, including Sean Bakhsh (above), had to maneuver through an obstacle course that included running 300 yards, jumping a six-foot high fence, and dragging a dummy a short distance.
