Falcon softball loses twice
ORLANDO — The Bowling Green Falcon softball team lost 1-0 to Colgate and 3-0 to Troy in the UCF Spring
Fling Friday. The Falcons are 4-10-1 on the season.
The Falcons got solid pitching performances from Braiden Dillow and Jamie Kertes throughout the day. The
two allowed four earned runs on 12 hits, while striking out 10 and walking only three.
Bowling Green had only four hits in the two games, including a double from Katie Yoho.
BGSU women golfers 11th
RIO VERDE, Ariz. — The Bowling Green State University women’s golf team is 11th with a 309 total after
the first round of the Rio Verde Invitational Friday. Montana leads the 18-team field with a 298 total.

BG’s scores were: Lily Bartell, tied for fifth, 73; Shelby Wilson and Bailey Arnold, tied for 40th, 78;
and Patrica Holt and Hannah Lewis, tied for 65th, 80.
BGSU swimming team
recognized for academics
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America named the Bowling Green State University swimming
program as one of 146 teams recognized as 2013 fall CSCAA scholar All-America teams. With a 3.43 team
grade-point average, the Falcons tied for 26th in the country.
County athletes to be honored
TOLEDO — Four athletes from Wood County high schools will be honored Monday as scholar-athletes by Toledo
Chapter of the National Football Foundation.
The four are: Eastwood’s Jacob Rahe and Michael Glaze; Otsego’s Cole Gorski; and Perrysburg’s Matt
Mesker.
Thirty-seven athletes will be recognized at the Seagate Convention Center.
Brady Hoke, Michigan’s head football coach, is the keynote speaker.
Owens men win
CIRCLEVILLE — The Owens Community College men’s basketball team beat Sinclair CC 104-90 in the Region XII
district tournament Friday.
John Murry scored 30 points for the Express while Shaakir Lindsey and Bikramijt Gill each had 23 points.
Gil also had 18 rebounds and six blocks, and teammate Andy Backham had 11 rebounds.
Owens, 25-5, plays Cincinnati State this afternoon.
Express women advance
CIRCLEVILLE — The Owens Community College men’s basketball team beat Edison CC, 81-46 in the Region XII
district tournament Friday.
Owens’ leaders were: Eboni Adams, 13 points, seven rebounds, six assists; Kamilah Carter, 13 points’
Paige Wright 11 points, five assists; and Maura Hackney, 10 points.
Owens, 26-2, plays Cincinnati State this afternoon.
Owens softball rained out
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The scheduled double header for the Owens Community College softball team was rained
out Friday. The Express finished its spring trip with a 6-0 record.
