BGSU softball signs sixThe Bowling Green State University softball team has signed players to
national letters of intent.The players are: Morgan Evangelista, from Elk Grove, Calif., a corner
infielder, and catcher; Alivia Forshey, Canton South, a middle infielder; Kayla Gregory, Milford, Glen
Este High School, middle infield, outfield; Katee Hinkle, Taylor, Mo., Palmyra High School, shortstop;
Kayla Koch, Lucasville Valley High School, first base; and Lulu Newmark, Pembroke Pines, Fla.,
catcher.Owens CC women’s soccer wins on penalty kicksMELBOURNE, Fla. – The Owens Community College
women’s soccer team beat Butler CC on penalty kicks Tuesday in the second game of pool play at the
National Junior College Athletic Association Division I National Tournament.Jessica Grindle, from
Northwood High School, gave Owens a 1-0 lead with less than four minutes remaining in the first half,
scoring off a corner kick from Jill Brukholder. Butler CC tied the game in the 53rd minute.Elizabeth
Theaker scored in the fifth round of penalty kicks to give Owens the win.Owens is 18-3 overall and waits
on the result of today’s Butler CC and Darton State game to see if it advances to the next round of the
tournament.Owens to host national volleyball tourneyThe National Junior College Athletic Association
Division II Women’s Volleyball Tournament starts Tuesday at Owens Community College in the Student
Health and Activities Center.Sixteen teams have qualified for this year’s championships.Game times and
