Falcon hockey adds three forwards
Three forwards have signed national letters of intent to play college hockey at Bowling Green, the school
announced Thursday.
The three are Lukas Craggs, who played for the Team Illinois Midget Major U18s; Shane Bednard, who played
for Johnston in the North American (Junior) Hockey League; and Jakob Reichert, who played for Langley in
the British Columbia (Junior) Hockey League.
Craggs, who turns 18 today, is 5-foot-8, 165 pounds and is from Elmhurst, Illinois. He had 20 goals and
11 assists in 28 games this season.
Bednard, who turns 20 in November, is 5-11, 161 and is from Macomb, Michigan. He had 19 goals and 32
assists in 60 games this season.
Reichert, who turns 21 in September, is 6-4, 229. He had 20 goals and 24 assists in 57 games this season.

BG baseball game suspended
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Thursday’s Bowling Green Falcon baseball game at Buffalo was suspended because of rain in
the top of the eighth inning. Buffalo holds a 7-1 lead.
The Mid-American Conference game will be completed today at 1, and the teams will then play their
regularly-scheduled game.
Pleger wins MAC championship
ATHENS – Bowling Green All-American Brooke Pleger successfully defended her Mid-American Conference
championship in the hammer throw Thursday at Ohio University.
Pleger threw a MAC championship record 218-9, bettering her mark of 216-3 from last year.
Elmwood High School graduate Kori Reiser was sixth with a throw of 182-6.
The meet continues today, starting this morning at 10:30.
Falcons’ Narro advances in U.S. Open qualifying
Bowling Green freshman Jose Narro finished in a tie for first place in the U.S. Open local qualifier at
Belmont Country Club Tuesday to move on to the sectional tournament and one step closer to the Open.
Narro carded a par 72 to finish in a three-way tie for first.
Also qualifying for the sectional is former Falcon Drew Preston, who shot a 69 to win a qualifier Monday
in Muskegon, Michigan.
BG’s Chiricosta, Scheps honored for academics
Bowling Green women’s tennis player Nikki Chiricosta and swimmer Joelle Scheps were named to the academic
all-district at-large team.
Chiricosta, who was the Mid-American Conference player of the year this season and finished her career
with a school record 190 wins, has a 3.97 grade-point average in communications.
Scheps has a 4.0 gpa in individualized business. The senior was a second-team All-MAC honoree last
season.
BGCC plans clinics
The Bowling Green Country Club is offering various clinics this summer.
A ladies clinic will be held May 24 and 31, and June 7-14 from 9-11 a.m. The cost is $70. The fourth
lesson will be a playing lesson at the club from 10 a.m.-noon.
An adult clinic will be held May 20 and 27, and June 3 from 6-8 p.m. The cost is $65.
