ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death
of a 23-year-old man who apparently fell and hit his head near the
campus of Ohio University.
Athens police said William Patrick
Thomas fell at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday and was found in the stairwell of a
restaurant on North Court Street. A university official said Thomas, of
the Columbus suburb of Gahanna, was not a student at the southeastern
Ohio school.
Thomas was pronounced dead at a hospital. Foul play is not suspected but police are still investigating.
