COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say badly decomposing human remains have been found in a Columbus rooming
house and the man’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
A Columbus police spokeswoman says the owner and a maintenance person were at the house for a routine
check late Thursday morning when they smelled something odd and noticed the body part. They called
police.
The police spokeswoman wouldn’t say what body part it was or where it was found, only that it was human.
She also had no immediate details on whether anything else suspicious was found.
She says one person at the three-bedroom property was taken in for questioning.
Police say that the cause and manner of death is unknown and that investigators will know more after an
autopsy is completed.
