Stanley Vermett, 78, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away April 30, 2014.
He was formerly of Toledo and Bowling Green, Ohio.
He was born in Toledo on February 28, 1936 to Stanley and Marie (Spence) Vermett. On November 22, 1980,
he married Kaye Kline in Bowling Green and she survives.
He worked for Interloke Steel for 12 years, then became a Deputy Sheriff for the Wood County Sheriff’s
Office, working under three different sheriffs. He retired in 1998 and moved to Texas in 1999.
He also is survived by sons Stanley (Denise) Vermett Jr., Sunnydale, Texas; Tim (Kris) Rood, Deshler,
Ohio; Danny (Lisa) Rood, Corona, California; Harold Rood, Rudolph, Ohio; daughters, Ginny Danko, Luna
Pier,
Michigan; Joann (Kerry) Rouse, Toledo; and Amy (Les) Stroud, Wills Point, Texas; and 17 grandchildren, 25
great-grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bruce Vermett; and a half sister, Jeannie Patterson.
There will be no service. He wanted everyone to remember him from the last time they saw him.
