OTIS L. BLOCK
Former longtime resident of Bowling Green, Otis Block passed away on June 19, 2014 at Saint Anne Nursing
Home in Seattle, Washington. He was 94.
Born July 30, 1919 in Akron, Ohio, he volunteered for the U.S. Army Air Corps before Pearl Harbor and was
stationed at Selfridge Field, Michigan when he met his wife-to-be on a blind date. From 1942 to 1945 he
served in Europe and North Africa.
After the war, he went to school at BGSU on the GI Bill and continued to live in Bowling Green until
1998.
Otis is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marguerite, a resident of Saint Anne Nursing Home. He is also
survived by their three daughters all of Seattle, Cheryl (Vern) Rollin, Linda (Gary) Goodale, and
Michele (Brian) O’Connor, as well as six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Connie, in 1995.
A celebration of his life was held on June 22nd.
