Cynthia Jane Witte, age, 92, formerly of Pemberville, OH, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Bowling Green Manor, Bowling Green, OH, where she had been a resident for five years.
She was born on February 17, 1921 in Cleveland, OH to Dr. Charles and Margaret (Stone) Otis.
After graduating from Bowling Green High School she attended BGSU and received degrees in Home Economics and Education. Cynthia worked at Western Union and served her country proudly while enlisted in the WAACS.
On January 12, 1947 she married James W. Witte in Bowling Green and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1995.
Her memberships included: the First Presbyterian Church of Bowling Green, Woodbine Chapter of Eastern Star and Pemberville American Legion Auxiliary Freedom Post #183.
In her spare time she enjoyed the outdoors, camping trips with her parents, reading and classical music, particularly opera.

Ruth M. Layman, 89, of Moline, passed away on January 16, 2014 at her daughter's residence.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2-8 PM and Funeral Services: Wednesday at 11AM all from Marsh Funeral Home, Luckey, OH.

Kathleen "Katie" Glauser, age 93, went to be with our Lord on January 15,, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
She was born December 4, 1920, in Toledo, Ohio.
Kathleen was employed at General Mills in Toledo for many years.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends throughout the U.S. and abroad. She especially enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and visits with her family.
In addition to her parents, Charles and Anna, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harold, brothers, Charles and Lawrence, and sisters, Margaret and Vernice.

jjruehl-obitJames Joseph Ruehl, 83 years old, died on Friday, January 17th, 2014 at the Sterling House in Bowling Green, Ohio. Jim was born June 30th, 1930 in Cumberland, Maryland to Carl and Nellie Ruehl. Jim was third youngest of 8 children that included his sisters Helen and Valetta and his brothers Paul, Fred, Pete, Vick and Gene.
While still in high school in Cumberland, Jim met his sweetheart, Ann (Alderman) Ruehl during a hayride and the two were soon boyfriend and girlfriend. The couple married in June, 1950 and were married for 63 years. Jim was recruited by Woody Hayes to play football at The Ohio State University and the couple started their life together on the Columbus, Ohio campus. In Jim's first season as a Buckeye, they beat the team up north and he and Woody earned their first pair of Gold Pants.
