Five arrested after two weekend brawls PDF Print E-mail

Five people were arrested following two reported brawls in the downtown area early Sunday.
BG Police were called to the 100 block of North Main Street after the report of a physical fight involving multiple individuals outside of the Clazel Theatre around 2:30 a.m.
A number of people at the scene reportedly scattered upon the arrival of police, but four were caught and charged.
Arrested were Joshua Easterday, 22, Findlay and David Gatton, 25, BG, each on one count of disorderly conduct/fighting; Zackary Ahumada, 18, Walbridge, for disorderly conduct with persistence, obstruction of official business and resisting arrest; and Brandon Santiago, 19, Toledo, for disorderly conduct, obstruction of official business and resisting arrest.

Jerry “Boo Boo” Gates
A former Bowling Green State University football standout was arrested early Sunday on a drug trafficking charge in the downtown area.
Bowling Green Police report that Jerry “Boo Boo” Gates, 22, BG, was arrested at the Community Commons area in the 100 block of East Wooster.
Police reportedly observed Gates make what was described as a “hand-to-hand” drug deal with another man, Laurence J. Blackful Illinois, 22, Joliet, Illinois.
Gates was approached by officers and allegedly admitted to the incident. He was arrested for trafficking in marijuana. The marijuana and $30 were seized in the incident.
He was listed as an inmate at the Wood County jail this morning and was being held without bail.
Blackful was cited for possession of marijuana.

BGHS students found with suspected pot PDF Print E-mail

Two Bowling Green High School students may be facing drug charges after they were discovered with suspected marijuana at the school on Friday.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office was initially involved in the case after a Milton Center resident informed them they observed two students smoking in their yard while waiting for a school bus.
The pair reportedly then hid a marijuana pipe on the property. Deputies called to the site subsequently found the item.

The Finance Committee of the Wood County Board of Health will meet at 5:30 p.m. today.

Teen arrested on sex charges PDF Print E-mail

A city teen was arrested Saturday on sex charges after an incident at a playground.
MacConnell Hall, 18, was listed in the Wood County jail this morning, held on $10,000 bond.
Police at 3:52 p.m. received a report that Hall had inappropriately touched a 15-year-old female and a 9-year-old female at a playground in the 400 block of Napoleon Road.
He also had reportedly choked an 11-year-old boy at the scene.
After being taken into custody, Hall reportedly admitted he was at the scene and said he accidentally touched the girls. He further said the incident with the 11-year-old was accidental and emerged after the boy harassed him.
