(Updated) Northbound I-475 closed from I-75 at Perrysburg PDF Print E-mail

MAUMEE – A Thursday crash in Lucas County has shutdown Interstate 475 northbound at Interstate 75, Ohio 25, Ohio 24, and Salisbury Road until repairs can be made to the bridge.
The closure could last until 3 p.m. as of a 9 a.m. update.
The Toledo Patrol Post is investigating the two-vehicle injury crash that occurred at approximately 8:40 P.M. on I-475 near milepost 7.
According to the patrol, Demario Burrell, Detroit, was driving a semi tractor-trailer northbound on I-475 in the right lane when he was struck by a 2000 Dodge Avenger driven by Daniel Beck, Toledo, as Beck entered I-475 from Salisbury Road.
After impact, Burrell crossed the left lane and struck a concrete construction barrier, traveled through the barrier and off the overpass, coming to rest on Manley Road.
Burrell was taken to University of Toledo Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

Millbury man pleads guilty to amended charge PDF Print E-mail

A Millbury man pleaded guilty to an amended charge related to an offense committed against a student while he was a substitute at Lake High School in 2011.
Jacob Kubuske, 29, appeared Thursday in the courtroom of Wood County Judge Robert Pollex.
Kubuske pleaded guilty to one count of attempted menacing by stalking, a fifth-degree felony.
He had previously been indicted on a single count of sexual battery, a third-degree felony.
Prosecuting attorney Gwen Howe-Gebers said the plea agreement was reached after discussions with the victim, as well as Ted Riley, Kubuske’s attorney.

One person seriously hurt in wrong-way I-75 crash PDF Print E-mail

ROSSFORD – One person was seriously injured in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 near the Wales Road exit in the city.
The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol reports that at approximately 10:10 a.m. Sophie Pecuszok, 83, Walbridge, was northbound in the southbound lanes of I-75, driving a 2001 Chrysler 300, when she struck head-on a 2009 Chevy Cobalt driven by Kristopher Widdersheim, 28, Toledo, who was southbound in the left lane.
Pecuszok was trapped in the vehicle for an extended period of time. She reportedly sustained serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, and was transported to Bay Park Hospital, Oregon, by Northwood EMS. It was not known if she was wearing a seat belt.
