have very special and successful season."

absence of these runners means we have holes to fill. However, this year’s team already has shown a
great desire to strive for excellence in every practice and realizes nothing of value can be achieved
without hard work and dedication."
LAKE
Coach: Dominick Kaple, second season.
2010 record: Fifth in the SLL.

Coach’s comment: "Last year, we were very young but continued to get better as the season went
along. Our goal this year is to increase the number of events represented at the regional meet, compete
at the SLL meet and send some girls to Columbus. If we want to compete for an SLL championship, we will
need to ‘bring it’ each day to practice and stay focused on the task at hand."
OTSEGO

Sophomores – Shelby McClellan, throws; Madison Mehl, jumps, hurdles; Bailee Raber, throws; Sidney Rowe,
pole vault, jumps, hurdles, sprints; and Andrea Walker, hurdles, sprints, middle distance.
Coach’s comment: SDLqWe have some outstanding individuals returning but overall we lack scoring depth. We
return the SLL champions in the high jump and long jump and the runnerups in the 100, 200, 1,600 and
3,200. What depth we do possess will come in the distance races where we have everyone from this year’s
district champion cross country team running this spring. Our ability to win dual meets and to finish
well at the league meet will be determined by our capacity to develop some scoring depth."

be successful."
TOLEDO AREA
ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
NORTHWOOD
Coach: Brian Tucker, first season.
2010 record: Fourth in the TAAC.
Returning letter winners: Seniors – Julie Welch, throws. Juniors – Jessica Grindle, sprints, hurdles;
Kayla Kurth, jumps, sprints; Nikki Davenport, sprints; Marissa Ramirez, sprints. Sophomore – Alli Coy,

Coach’s comment: "We have a small team, but there is some talent. The sprints are solid, we have an
excellent hurdler, a good long u and it will be a matter of putting our kids where they will help our
team the most. I will be asking kids to try different events if necessary for the good of the team. We
will probably be a better big meet team than a dual meet team. The kids are working hard for us."
