MAUMEE —After trailing by as many as 18 points in the first half, Bowling Green boys' basketball team used cut-throat defense to claw its way back to within one-point of Maumee in the fourth quarter Friday.
However, the Panthers held on for a 72-63 victory.
In what proved to be a tense Northern Lakes League matchup, which included technical fouls called on both teams and a skirmish at half-court, BG lacked consistency at both ends of the court and, as a result, dropped to 2-8 overall and 1-4 in the league.
