The Eagles, known for their ability to connect on the 3-pointer, consistently slashed, cut and drove to the basket throughout the first half.
But Perrysburg’s second-half defense clamped down, and the sixth-ranked Yellow Jackets claimed a sectional championship with a 55-40 win at Fostoria High School.

OLD FORT — At halftime, the Bowling Green girls basketball team game-planned to get the ball inside
Led by Tyanna Smith, the Bobcats responded with a 25-point third quarter on the way to a 68-48 win over Port Clinton Saturday. BG led 30-27 at the half.
The game was a Division II sectional final played at Old Fort High School.
The Bobcats, 13-11 overall, advance to the district semifinal Thursday at 8 p.m. against Toledo Rogers at Perrysburg High School.
‘‘We thought we could get after them with a little pressure, and we thought if that rattled them, we could really get after them in the post,’’ BG head coach Jeff Nichols said.
‘‘We talked about it at halftime to make sure we got a couple of our set-play looks inside and finish them,’’ he continued. ‘‘That enabled us to do what we wanted to do in the second half.’’
