JERRY CITY — Elmwood’s girls basketball team clinched the outright Northern Buckeye Conference title last week, but on Thursday it celebrated back-to-back championships with a 59-45 victory over Rossford on Senior Night. PHOTO GALLERY
“We were picked to be fourth in the league this year, and we really wanted to prove that we still could compete,” said Elmwood senior Kristen Curtis, who finished with a game-high 16 points. “Now we are in first, and we came out and proved them wrong.”
After winning the NBC last year, also going 13-1 in the league, it was questionable whether Elmwood (16-5) would be able to reload after losing several of its starters.
