Eastwood honors fire, EMS departments at football game
PEMBERVILLE – At halftime of the final home game of the year at Eastwood High School on Friday, the
district will recognize and thank firefighters from Troy Township Fire and EMS and Pemberville-Freedom
Fire Department for their work during the fire on Jan. 24.
Firefighters and Auxiliary members will get in for free.
The district will work to the other supporting departments at a later time.
PHS to present Showfest of Talent
PERRYSBURG –
Perrysburg High School will present the Showfest of Talent on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the PHS auditorium.
The show will feature the Jazz Singers and Women’s Select Choir as well as a variety of talented acts
from the high school.
This event is open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend.
All tickets are $5 general admission and can be purchased at the door starting at 6 p.m. the night of the
show.
Ohio Newspaper Foundation
offers scholarships
The Ohio Newspapers Foundation has scholarship opportunities for students majoring in one of the
following newspaper industry related fields: journalism, advertising, marketing and communications.
For college students there are three $1500 university journalism scholarships, one $1500 Harold Douthit
regional scholarship, and one $1500 women’s scholarship. For Ohio high school seniors there is one $1500
minority scholarship. Interested students must attend an Ohio college or university.
The deadline for all applications is March 31/
