Katherine Brown of Perrysburg was recognized at the 2014 Wittenberg University Honors Convocation for induction into an honor society in the academic disciplines.
She was inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta. Alpha Kappa Delta seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition. Academically accomplished sociology majors and minors are invited to join Wittenberg's Sigma of Ohio Chapter.

Wittenberg University celebrated the achievements of students and faculty members at the annual Honors Convocation.
Madeline Petee of Perrysburg was inducted into Mortar Board, a national senior honorary recognizing scholarship, leadership and service. Candidates must have a 3.3 grade point average and excel in both curricular and cocurricular leadership and service to the Wittenberg community.

NORTH BALTIMORE - The Class of 2014 has earned $698,125 in scholarship awards.
Seniors and their awards include:
Rebecka Adkins: NBHS Class of 1972 Scholarship $500. She will study Music Education at Ohio Christian University.
Paige Bowen: ONU Trustee Merit Scholarship $32,000, Millstream Credit Union Scholarship $750, North Baltimore School Scholarship $500, NBEA Spirit Scholarship $500. At Ohio Northern University she will study Environmental & Field Biology.
Garrett Boyer: BGSU Academic Scholarship $16,000. While attending Bowling Green State University, he will pursue a degree in Construction Management.
Jasmine Bretz: UF Presidential Scholarship $60,000. She will attend The University of Findlay to study Education.

Austin Steward, of Bloomdale, was inducted into the Sphinx Senior Honorary at Ohio State University, when he is working toward in bachelor's degree in finance and international studied.
He is in OSU's Buckeye Leadership Fellow Program and spends a majority of his time dedicated to the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life.

Penta students qualify for national competition PDF Print E-mail

PERRYSBURG - Students from Penta Career Center and several of its satellite programs recently earned top awards at the Ohio Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) convention and the SkillsUSA Ohio Championship in Columbus.
As a result of earning top awards there, several Wood County students qualify for the FCCLA National Leadership Conference July 6-10 in San Antonio, Texas.
These students include:
Early Childhood Education students and gold medal winners Colleen Kaylor, Perrysburg, Teach and Train contest; Hortencia Perez, Bowling Green, Promote and Publicize contest; Elisa Reyes, Eastwood, and Chelsea Elam, Lake, Illustrated Talk contest.
Culinary Arts students and gold medal winners Nicole Lambert, Bowling Green, and Brandi Alderman, Otsego, Entrepreneurship contest.
