Rossford OK payment in lieu of taxes agreement
ROSSFORD - The board of education approved an enterprise zone agreement related top the expansion of IC Fluid Power on Wales Road.
The company is investing $1.4 million in the project. The payment in lieu of taxes agreement is expected to net the district $19,300 annually for 10 years probably starting in 2016, Treasurer James Rossler said last week.
The agreement approved board stipulates that the money "will not be used for staff compensation."

Bowling Green State University's co-ed cheerleading squad clinched a national championship Jan. 18, at the 2014 Universal Cheerleading Association College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship.
"I knew this team was willing to work hard and accomplish our goal," said head Coach Anne Marie King. "We strive to improve each year as a program and winning the national championship was the next step in our success."
The Falcons' top finish at the annual competition in Orlando, Fla., is the highest a Mid-American Conference school has ever placed. It is the fifth consecutive year the BGSU squad has placed in the top five in the country. Last year the squad finished second, losing to Hofstra University by just 0.7 points.

PERRYSBURG - Way Library continues to offer programs specifically for homeschooled boys and girls. Here is what is being presented in February.
Afternoon Adventures: Magnets is being offered on Feb. 3 at 1:30 p.m. for ages 5-7. The children will be introduced to the workings of magnets in this hands-on program.
Online registration is required.
Book Talk is taking place on Feb. 10 at 1:30 p.m. for ages 8-12. The book under discussion will be "The One and Only Ivan" by Katherine Applegate. This is a Newbery Award winning book of a gorilla who has spent most of his life in a circus. He accepts things as they are until a baby elephant joins the circus.

St. Louis celebrates Catholic Schools Week PDF Print E-mail

CUSTAR - St. Louis Catholic School is celebrating Catholic Schools Week.
Students are asked to wear their St. Louis sweatshirts or T-shirts on Sunday for Mass, as well as throughout the entire week.
This year, the parish will celebrate its 150th birthday.
Events and daily themes scheduled through the week include:
Sunday: Faith, Knowledge and Service In Our Parish. Mass 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Students will hand out a "thank you" to the parish at Mass for their support of St. Louis School. Open House 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Religion fair projects, created by K-6 grade students, will be on exhibit. Country Breakfast 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with all proceeds going toward the annual School Fund Drive.
