Weston Legion serves chicken dinner Friday
WESTON – American Legion Post 409 on South Main Street will hold a chicken supper Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Cygnet garage sales Saturday
CYGNET – The 32nd annual Cygnet Community Garage Sales are Saturday (May 10) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Open Carry sponsors walk
Northwest Ohio Open Carry will sponsor an Open Carry Walk in Bowling Green Saturday.
The group will meet at Frisch’s at Main and Poe and walk downtown and then back.
Contra dance at Rossford
ROSSFORD – The second Saturday Contra Dance will be this weekend at the Rossford United Methodist Church,
270 Dixie Highway.
The dance is from 7 to 10:30 p.m., which instruction from 7 to 7:30.
Partners are not necessary, and beginners and families are welcome.
The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for students ages 12 through graduate school.

Mother’s Day dinner offered in Bradner
BRADNER – A Mother’s Day baked steak dinner will be served Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until sold out at the
Bradner Fire Station.
The meal also will include mashed potatoes, vegetable, rolls, pie and drink for $8.
Carryouts will be available.
The meal is sponsored by the Bradner Fire Association and Auxiliary.
Weekend bird tours offered
The Ohio Ornithological Society is accepting applications for beginner bird tours on International
Migratory Bird Day at Magee Marsh Wildlife Area, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources,
Division of Wildlife.
The walks Saturday will be held at: 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and the walks Sunday
will be held at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Walks are limited to 15 participants each and will be filled on
first come, first served basis.
To sign up, applicants should send an email to: [email protected]. All emails should contain the
applicant’s name, phone number, date and desired time-slot. A return email will confirm the meeting
place, date and time.

Appalachian Trail hike discussed at Way Library
PERRYSBURG – Cheryl "Clinker" McCormick of Sylvania Township will speak about her experience
doing a through-hike on the Appalachian Trail, Wednesday at 7 p.m., at the Way Public Library.
McCormick began the 2,187 mile, six-month journey from Georgia to Maine on her 63rd birthday and
completed the trek 165 days later. The Appalachian Trail stretches from Georgia to Maine and is
approximately 2,200 miles long. It is estimated that 2 to 3 million people visit the trail each year.
