TOLEDO - Two duos will take the stage Saturday for a 9 p.m. show at the Robinwood Concert House, 2564 Robinwood Ave.
Home Of Easy Credit, with Danish multi-instrumentalist Louise Dam Eckardt Jensen and bassist Tom Blancarte, challenges the boundaries of free-improvised music, jazz, folk, and pop music. According to the venue: "The duo seeks to hold up a mirror to contemporary musical tastes to create a dark, beautiful and thrilling sound world that reflects upon the decline of contemporary civilization."
Also on the bill, the Danish duo vocal and guitar duo SAV "focuses on experimental improvised music that pushes against the definitions of what is considered musical."
Tickets are $5.

Burns' 'The Address' at Way
PERRYSBURG - WGTE and Way Library will present the program "The Address," a new film by Ken Burns, on April 24 at 10:30 a.m.
At the tiny Greenwood School in Putney, Vermont, 50 boys, ages 11 to 17, struggle through myriad learning differences to memorize and recite the Gettysburg Address, a rite of passage at the school for the last 35 years.
The film interweaves the history of this most famous of American speeches with the story of the boys at Greenwood.
Discussion will follow the screening.

New film tells Luis Chaluisan's story PDF Print E-mail

Luis Chaluisan displays the “Rocker Roller Rican” DVD inside Finder’s in downtown Bowling Green. (Photo provided)
Luis Chaluisan has become a familiar figure in downtown Bowling Green.
Not that anyone would ever think he's from here. He was born in Puerto Rico in 1957 and raised in the North Bronx where his family moved when he was 7, and his voice has the quick, colorful clip that betrays his upbringing.
A new documentary "Rocker Roller Rican" out on DVD tells about his life and its intersection with the emerging Nuyorican culture in the 1970s and 1980s in New York.
"Rocker Roller Rican" will be screened at the Connection Center during art walk throughout the afternoon on April 26 at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. in downtown Bowling Green. It'll also be screened by WBGU-PBS, where Chaluisan worked in the 1980s, in May.
The hour-long film traces Chaluisan's ancestry back to the Basque region in Europe, through Haiti to Puerto Rico until he arrived at age 7 in the North Bronx in New York City.
