Halep wins 11 straight games to beat Lisicki

LONDON (AP) — French Open runner-up Simona Halep won the last 11 games of the match to advance to the
Wimbledon semifinals with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over 2013 finalist Sabine Lisicki of Germany
The third-seeded Romanian was down 4-1 in the first set before coming back to win easily in 57 minutes on
Centre Court.
The 19th-seeded Lisicki struggled with her serve and had 20 unforced errors, compared to 11 by Halep.
The Romanian went for winners on Lisicki’s weak second serve. The German won only eight of 26 points on
her second serve.
Halep will next face the winner of the match between No. 13 Eugenie Bouchard of Canada and No. 9
Angelique Kerber of Germany.
