Chiricosta named MAC tennis player of the year
CLEVELAND - Bowling Green State University's Nikki Chriricosta was named the Mid-American Conference tennis player of the year.
A senior, Chiricosta is the first Bowling Green player to earn player of the year honors.
This season Chiricosta leads the Falcons in singles (19), doubles (22) and overall victories (41). Playing exclusively at the top singles flight during the conference portion of the schedule, she finished the regular season with a 6-2 singles mark in MAC dual matches. Chiricosta teamed with sophomore Katie Brozovich for a 5-2 doubles record in MAC play.
With 41 total wins this season, Chiricosta has become just the second player in school history to win at least 40 matches in all four years at BG.
BG senior Emily Reuland was named to the second team.
